Project presentation
In France, women represent 32% of permanent agricultural workers, yet only one quarter of farm management positions are held by women. They often face invisibility in their work within a predominantly male and declining sector, and struggle to access decision-making spaces.
Based on the observation that women are actively developing concrete initiatives for more sustainable agriculture, the Fondation GoodPlanet aims to support and expand the “Groupe Femmes 44” (GF44), a collective of 15 women farmers from the CIVAM network (Centre d’Initiatives pour Valoriser le Milieu Rural) in Loire-Atlantique.
The project provides tailored support to GF44 members through research studies and practical guides, organization of exchange and experience-sharing days on sustainable farming practices, and technical training adapted to their needs. Communication initiatives are also implemented to highlight the role of women in sustainable agriculture among both the general public and agricultural professionals.
Beyond empowering women farmers and strengthening their skills, this project also promotes sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods.
