Projet soutenu Project supported in 2019: Empowering women

Project presentation

Carried out in partnership with France Terre d’Asile in nine reception centres across the Île-de-France region, the project offers sustainable horticulture training workshops for 90 asylum-seeking women and women facing barriers to employment. The aim is to recognise their skills and support their professional integration.

During these workshops, the Du Pain & Des Roses team uses exclusively locally grown, seasonal flowers while also running awareness campaigns on the environmental and economic impact of imported, out-of-season cut flowers in France.

The project also includes an awareness-raising component on the challenges faced by asylum-seeking women and on sustainable horticulture, notably through the participation of beneficiary women in floral design workshops open to the general public.
