Project presentation
The expansion of oil extraction activities, deforestation and soil and water pollution are severely affecting the Ecuadorian Amazon and having a major impact on local communities.
Active for around ten years in the Napo province of Ecuador, Ishpingo launched a project to create fruit and medicinal tree nurseries in order to restore forests and regenerate ecosystems. Kichwa women, trained in agroforestry techniques, are responsible for managing these plots.
To help them increase the value of their production and secure their income, the project provides training in fruit processing and supports the creation of a cooperative, enabling women to strengthen their economic independence and collective organization.
