Project presentation
In response to the arrival of large numbers of refugees in the Paris region, Emmaüs Solidarité opened an Emergency Shelter Centre in Ivry-sur-Seine for vulnerable people. Since 2017, the most vulnerable individuals, particularly women travelling alone, have been referred to this centre.
Having experienced displacement and migration journeys during which they were at greater risk of sexual and gender-based violence, refugee women require tailored support. Emmaüs Solidarité provides this through dedicated activities such as socio-aesthetic workshops, memory and trauma support, and sessions focused on femininity and parenting. This comprehensive support helps women rebuild their lives while enabling them to complete the administrative procedures necessary for their integration.
