Project presentation
The association Métissage established a vocational training and professional integration centre in Zagtouli, in the Boulmiougou district. The centre includes workshops in weaving, dyeing, sewing and computer skills, providing participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to enter the labour market, particularly by creating their own businesses.
The association is now expanding the centre by establishing a shea processing workshop. In Africa, women are primarily responsible for agro-food processing activities, which are still largely carried out manually using basic equipment.
The project involves constructing a building to house the workshop, equipping it with essential machinery (shea mills, crushers, kernel presses and cooking pots), and creating a revolving fund to purchase raw materials.
The mechanical equipment will improve women’s working conditions and enable them to turn their production into a sustainable source of income. They will receive training to produce high-quality shea butter and shea butter soap in larger quantities. Each woman will then sell her products within the local community and throughout the country.
