In India, many women who benefit from microcredit schemes and are organised into self-help groups face major difficulties in selling their products. To address this challenge, HAMAP is setting up the first socially oriented shop in Pondicherry, dedicated to selling products made by women members of these groups.
As a first step in the project, 32 women will be selected as suppliers for the shop based on the quality of their products. They will receive training in negotiation, sales and management. The skills they acquire will help them market their products through all their sales channels.
