Hoang Lien National Park (HLNP), in northern Vietnam, is largely inhabited by ethnic minority communities such as the Hmong, Giay and Dao, whose livelihoods are mainly based on agriculture and handicrafts. Within these communities, women still face significant barriers to developing income-generating activities, including limited access to land, early marriage and high rates of illiteracy.

Led by Agrisud International, the
IDEAS Femmes project aims to empower women by supporting them in the creation of income-generating activities (IGAs) and by providing literacy classes to facilitate their integration into agricultural value chains. The project seeks to ensure that women are fully integrated and valued within the local economy and that they gain recognised roles within their communities.
