Since 2011, the organization Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF) France has been supporting rural women entrepreneurs in Haute-Savoie through its “Femmes Rurales” network. These women, often isolated and insufficiently supported, face difficulties accessing business support services, which weakens the sustainability of their activities and increases their financial vulnerability. To address these challenges, WECF’s Femmes Rurales network works to promote women-led green entrepreneurship and to give visibility to those who are committed to advancing their communities.
In 2025, with support from the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation’s Women & Environment program, the organization is strengthening its efforts to provide greater visibility, support, and development opportunities to rural women in Haute-Savoie who are engaged in sustainable and innovative projects.

The Women & Biodiversity Award
Until October 12, 2025, WECF France is accepting applications for the second edition of the Women & Biodiversity Award.
This award highlights women committed to preserving and restoring biodiversity in rural and peri-urban areas of Ain, Isère, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie. Whether farmers, craftswomen, entrepreneurs, association members, or leaders of collective projects, all are invited to apply.
The award aims to:
Three winners will each receive a €1,000 grant to further their work and gain greater visibility among local stakeholders.
The award ceremony will take place on December 5, 2025, on the occasion of World Soil Day.

The podcast “Hautes Voix”
With the support of the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation, WECF France is also launching the podcast Hautes Voix.
This series gives a voice to women who are reinventing Alpine ecology through their creativity, work, and commitment.
In a context of ecological and social crisis, Hautes Voix sheds light on often overlooked stories of women who are experimenting daily with new ways of cultivating, healing, innovating, and protecting life. These testimonies show that resilience, solidarity, and respect for nature can go hand in hand.
