Project presented by ActionAid France-Peuples Solidaires
In Bangladesh, women represent the majority of workers in the textile sector and are particularly exposed to gender-based and sexual violence, discrimination and precarious working conditions.
To address this situation, ActionAid France-Peuples Solidaires, in partnership with ActionAid Bangladesh, has created “workers’ cafés”: safe spaces where women can rest, exchange experiences, access training on their rights, leadership and violence prevention, and receive legal and medical support. This approach strengthens their ability to act, helps combat isolation and enables better protection of their labour rights.
Use of the prize:
The prize will support actions carried out by partner organizations in Sri Lanka and Spain, develop training programmes, educational resources and exchange spaces, and extend this approach to a new local feminist partner.
