Low-tech solutions are simple technical approaches that address basic needs (access to energy, food, mobility, etc.), are accessible (both economically and in terms of know-how), and environmentally friendly (using local, recycled, or bio-based materials, low-energy, low-pollution, etc.).

EKO! shares these ecological solutions and skills with displaced persons who live in constantly changing environments that require ongoing adaptation. To achieve this, the organisation runs the
Low-Tech & Refugees project, initiated in refugee camps on the Greek island of Lesbos in 2018, and now implemented in Briançon (a mountainous area on the French-Italian border) and Marseille (a Mediterranean city also facing major reception, waste, and environmental challenges).
Given the extreme vulnerability of displaced women, EKO! focuses on integrating them into its low-tech workshops and training sessions. The project aims to empower these women, enabling them to showcase their skills while gaining dignity and autonomy.
