Project presentation

The association Droits D'urgence (DDU), brings together a team of jurists and lawyers to provide legal support to the most vulnerable people, particularly foreigners. The association has been helping women victims of domestic violence since 2007, and opened a domestic violence center in 2021. It runs 3 rights access points in the 20th, 13th and 18th arrondissements of Paris. The association also has 24 mobile jurists, who work an average of 8 shifts a week in various locations (law courts, hospitals, women's day centers, partner associations, etc.). The association intends to continue training all its employees and volunteers, and to expand its catalog with new thematic modules (disability and domestic violence, child co-victims). Lastly, in 2020 it set up the DroisDirects.fr website, which contains thematic fact sheets on domestic violence and lists victim support structures in 3 arrondissements of Paris and in Seine-Saint-Denis. The association intends to update and add new fact sheets, and to reference structures throughout Paris and the Île-de-France region. Droits D'urgence works closely with its partners and existing victim support structures, to ensure that women who have suffered violence receive the support they need to escape. The association regularly exchanges with law enforcement agencies, social workers, doctors, judges and hospitals.
