The RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation Supports 15 New Nonprofit Projects

Following the call for projects launched between 2023 and 2024, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation has selected 15 nonprofit initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of women in France and around the world. The Foundation is committed to co-financing most of these projects over several years, demonstrating its long-term engagement.

Defense of Rights & the Fight Against Violence Toward Women and Girls

Fight for Dignity – “Les Kombattantes” (France):
Proposes a therapeutic approach to karate designed for women survivors of violence who have developed physical, sensory, and bodily trauma, and who struggle to reconnect with their own bodies.

D’Antilles et D’Ailleurs – “Amaralaisy” (Dominican Republic and Suriname):
Prevents the entry into, and supports the exit from, prostitution for migrant women between Suriname and the Dominican Republic, while providing access to medical assistance services for women facing sexual exploitation.

Refugee Women’s Centre – “Access to Rights and Autonomy for Exiled Women at the French British Border” (France):
Supports women and families living in informal camps at the French-British border, particularly in Calais and the Dunkirk area, by providing essential supplies and social and administrative support.

Solidarité Femmes Beaujolais – “Supporting Women in Remote Rural Areas” (France):
Fights violence against women in the Beaujolais region by creating emergency accommodation and offering comprehensive support to help women overcome isolation and limited access to services and rights.

Planning Familial – “Advocacy for the Right to Abortion” (France):
Implements a one-year awareness campaign to place the right to abortion at the center of political and public debate in France.

SOS Méditerranée – “Midwife on Board the Ocean Viking” (Multicountry – Mediterranean):
Assists people in distress at sea—particularly women and children, most of whom experience violence during migration journeys—by ensuring access on board the rescue ship, OceanViking, to a safe, non-mixed space for care and support.

EMMA – “Supporting Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Rights through Doulas” (Hungary):
Empowers Roma women in Hungary regarding sexual and reproductive health by creating a network of Roma women doulas who help overcome barriers related to poverty, exclusion, and multiple discrimination.

Education & Equal Opportunities

Passerelles Numériques – “Vavahady Niomerika – The Digital Portal” (Madagascar):
Trains young women in digital professions through a three-year program combining preparatory coursework, personal development, and two years of ongoing support alongside university studies.

Pépite Sexiste – “Education Against Gender Stereotypes” (France):
Denounces gender stereotypes on social media with a community of over 550,000 followers, raises awareness through dedicated campaigns, and provides free educational tools to teaching professionals.

Rêv’Elles – “Development of the Alumnae Community in Île-de-France” (France):
Offers girls from priority neighborhoods activities focused on career guidance and self-confidence, building a supportive alumnae network across Île-de-France to sustain their empowerment.

Women’s Economic Rights & Professional Inclusion

Solidarité Femmes 13 – “Professional Support for Women Survivors of Violence” (France):
Provides tailored professional counseling to women survivors of violence to support social reintegration and help break the cycle of abuse.

Movement France – “Community Garden for Internally Displaced Women” (Burkina Faso):
Promotes sustainable, responsible agriculture in Ouahigouya to fight food insecurity, encourage ecological consumption, and local product processing, with women leading these initiatives.

ONGSEED – “Yeleen” (Mali):
Strengthens women’s incomes and community roles in Bamako through cultural activities, positioning gender equality at the heart of neighborhoods affected by violence and inequality.

Frères des Hommes – “Women Empowerment” (India):
Defends the rights of women workers in the construction, domestic work, and waste collection sectors, as well as retired women in Bangladesh, by offering legal assistance and collective organizing support.

Women’s Environmental Action

HUMY – “Empowerment of Indigenous Pasto Women in the Colombian Andes through Cereal Processing and Marketing” (Colombia):
Strengthens the autonomy of a group of indigenous women by developing an income-generating cereal processing activity that provides a sustainable alternative to deforestation.
