The last 5 projects supported by the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation in 2024
24 January 2025The Executive Committee of the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation meets twice a year to select projects aimed at improving the status of women in France and around the world. In 2024, in addition to the grants awarded during the June and September Executive Committees, the Foundation has exceptionally decided to provide financial support to five additional initiatives.
The five selected projects:
Professional Integration and Economic Rights
Re-Belle (France): Supporting Women’s Socio-Professional Integration in Seine-Saint-Denis While Combating Food Waste
- Transforming surplus fruits and vegetables into artisanal jams.
- Creating opportunities for women far removed from the labor market through employment integration programs.
Les Ateliers du Féminisme Populaire (France): The “POP!” Program – Empowering Women through Education and Mentorship
- Launching the “POPEUSES” initiative, centered on RCC encounters: Share-Tell-Connect.
- Developing tailored online training modules.
- Establishing a strategic partnership with 100 companies to recruit 500 mentors, supporting participants in their personal and professional growth.
Agronomes et Vétérinaires Sans Frontières (AVSF) (Senegal): Promoting Economic Empowerment and Women’s Participation in the Agro-Pastoral Sector
- Supporting the creation of sustainable jobs and the professional development of young women agro-pastoralists in Senegal’s Matam region.
- Enhancing technical skills and traditional knowledge through training programs and support for local organizations.
- Encouraging women’s involvement in local governance within producer organizations and showcasing traditional expertise.
ActionAid France (Bangladesh): Advocating for Women’s Rights in Textile Factories and Combating Gender-Based Violence
- Strengthening the capacity of female textile workers to organize and defend their rights.
- Advocating for improved working conditions and the prevention of gender-based violence in textile factories.
Education and Equal Opportunities
UniR: Universities & Refugees (France): Supporting the Professional Integration of Refugee Women in France
- Guiding refugee and asylum-seeking women through a mentorship program to facilitate resuming their studies and learning French.
- Improving access to higher education and the job market.
- Promoting best practices in addressing the intersection of gender and migration.
