A Symbolic Event to Support Peace and Reconciliation Between Israel and Palestine

On September 23, 2024, the Fondation RAJA-Danièle Marcovici supported the Paris Call for Peace in the Middle East, organized by the Les Guerrières de la Paix. This unique event brought together over 120 Israeli and Palestinian activists in Paris, all determined to end the violence tearing the region apart. On the stage of the Théâtre national de la Colline, participants delivered a powerful message: peace is possible and necessary. “There is no other way,” declared Rabbi Nava Hefetz, emphasizing the urgency of action for a shared future.

Prominent figures such as Tahani Abu Daqqa, former Minister of Culture and Sports in Palestine, Alon-Lee Green, Co-Director of the Standing Together movement, and Ali Abu Awwad, founder of the Palestinian movement Taghyeer, shared their vision for lasting peace. All stressed that no military solution could resolve a political conflict, and that dialogue and cooperation remain the only means to rebuild trust. “We must close the divide that separates us,” Ali Abu Awwad insisted, calling for overcoming divisions and building a peaceful future together.

The event also highlighted the tragic realities of the conflict through a powerful documentary, showing victims, broken families, and the daily consequences of violence. These images underscored the importance of international mobilization.
