In France, the situation of women living in priority urban neighborhoods (QPV) has significantly worsened over the past 10 years. Often from immigrant backgrounds, largely excluded from employment or holding precarious jobs, these women face multiple forms of discrimination that hinder their integration and their access to mainstream support systems.
In response to this situation, the association Ateliers du Féminisme Populaire created the program “Héroïnes en région,” an initiative focused on empowerment support and entrepreneurship training dedicated to women living in QPV areas. The program has already supported 32 women from Melun (Seine-et-Marne) and Le Mée (Essonne) in developing their professional, associative, or artistic projects. It is now being expanded to three new cities (Bondy and Sevran in Seine-Saint-Denis, and Compiègne in Oise). Group workshops, mentoring, and company visits will enable women to build self-confidence and acquire the tools needed to develop their projects.
