Project presentation
The Amaralaisy project aims to establish a protection and support system for migrant women facing trafficking and prostitution between the Dominican Republic, Suriname, and Haiti. It offers comprehensive support, including access to rights, healthcare, psychosocial support, socio-professional integration, and the possibility of safe return to their country of origin.
In Suriname, D’Antilles et D’Ailleurs (DADA) and its partner BFR assist women with access to rights, health services, and return programs. In the Dominican Republic, DADA and MUDHA support women at risk or returning from prostitution through training in crafts, catering, or agriculture. The project also includes awareness-raising on the dangers of migration at the Haitian border and systematic monitoring of migration pathways to inform advocacy and prevention efforts.
