Project presentation

Fight For Dignity supports women survivors of violence in their recovery process by using adapted karate to restore the mind–body connection. Weekly workshops, organized within support structures such as Maisons des Femmes, enable participants to regain body awareness, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

The Les Kombattantes project aims to expand this method across the entire French territory by increasing the number of workshops while continuing a research-action approach to measure and strengthen the impact of the methodology.

At the same time, the organization carries out advocacy activities to promote exercise prescribed by healthcare professionals (sport sur ordonnance) and to raise public awareness about violence against women.

Fight For Dignity
The association

Founded in 2017 by Laurence Fischer, a three-time world karate champion, Fight For Dignity is a non-profit organization established under French law (Loi 1901) and based in Montrouge. The organization has 10 staff members and 26 volunteers.

Its mission is to support vulnerable populations—particularly women and children who are survivors of violence—through education, sport, culture, and vocational training.

The association organizes adapted karate workshops to help women regain self-confidence and reconnect with their bodies, complementing the medical and social support provided by partner organizations.
