Project presentation

In Rome, migrant women are particularly vulnerable to violence and discrimination, while facing numerous barriers to accessing mainstream support services.

To address this situation, Fondazione Pangea opened in 2023 a reception service dedicated exclusively to this population. Free of charge and accessible regardless of legal status, this unique initiative in Italy provides comprehensive support—legal, social, psychological, and professional. Each woman follows an individualized pathway, co-designed with a multidisciplinary and intercultural team, to support recovery, autonomy, and long-term integration.

In parallel, Pangea strengthens local coordination through awareness-raising activities and cooperation with local stakeholders.
