Project presentation
La Vague conducts advocacy by coordinating a civil society coalition with the aim of producing a white paper containing practical recommendations to strengthen the implementation of the Aubry Law, which mandates 21 sexuality education sessions over seven years in middle and high school—an average of three sessions per year.
A 2022 survey by the #NousToutes Collective among over 10,000 respondents showed that students received only 13% of the mandated sessions. Psycho-emotional and legal topics are rarely addressed, leaving a purely biological approach to affective and sexual life.
The sessions aim to: promote gender equality; prevent violence; prepare students for healthy affective and sexual relationships; and provide basic legal knowledge on sexist and sexual violence. La Vague’s approach is based on a comprehensive assessment of current practices, existing tools, and obstacles to implementation.
