Project presentation

In response to the growing number of emergency calls and the urgent need to ensure immediate safety for women experiencing domestic and family violence, Léa Solidarité Femmes (LSF) is relaunching its Emergency Safe Shelter (SAS Urgence). This facility provides women and their children with 24-hour emergency accommodation in a secure and welcoming environment, offering immediate support and guidance toward long-term housing solutions tailored to their situation.

Women are welcomed by a trained social worker and provided with essential services, including food and hygiene kits, child-friendly spaces, kitchen and laundry facilities. They benefit from multidisciplinary support (legal, social, psychological, employment counseling) and weekly collective workshops focused on recovery and empowerment, such as self-defense, art therapy, digital skills, and parenting support. The address remains confidential, and the shelter is equipped with reinforced security systems (indoor and outdoor alarms, secure room, silent alarm system, frosted windows).

The project ensures immediate protection at the critical moment when women decide to leave a violent home, reducing the risk of returning due to lack of alternatives. It provides a safe space to rest, regain strength, and begin a coordinated recovery pathway supported by LSF and its partners.
