Project presentation
The association ANAK – Aide aux enfants d’Indonésie runs an empowerment project for young girls living in its home in Dharma City, Bali. While the south of the island benefits from strong tourism activity, populations in the north and east live in much more precarous conditions, which often prevent children from accessing education.
In addition, the weight of traditions heavily affects girls and women. Many are married at a young age and are expected to dedicate themselves exclusively to household duties and childcare.
With the support of the Fondation RAJA-Danièle Marcovici, ANAK established a home for young girls in 2018. The association now aims to expand its activities and offer the 48 girls living there a comprehensive empowerment pathway, including intensive English classes, the creation of a small organic farm, entrepreneurship workshops, and vocational training.
