Defending Rights
& Fighting Violence
Combating violence against women means protecting lives, but also promoting a more just and equal society.
— Françoise Brié, member of the Executive Committee and former Executive Director of the National Women's Solidarity Federation (FNSF)
Every day around the world, millions of women and girls suffer physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence. This serious violation of human rights is the main obstacle to building a fair and equal society. Since its creation, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation has supported prevention, support, and reconstruction for victims, as well as the defense of sexual and reproductive rights, including access to information, contraception, safe abortion, and appropriate care.
It also pays particular attention to the rights of migrant women, who are exposed to specific forms of violence and particular obstacles, by promoting their protection and the recognition of their rights. The Foundation thus works to ensure that all women live free from violence and can fully exercise their rights.
The RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation supports projects that:
offer comprehensive support (legal, medical, psychological, etc.) and day centers, emergency accommodation, and assistance services (chat and telephone) to women and girls who are victims of violence.
guarantee respect for human rights, including sexual and reproductive rights.
work to improve protection for migrant women, both during their migration journey and once they arrive in their host country.
