This year has been particularly challenging for women who are victims of violence. Periods of lockdown have been an extremely difficult ordeal for all women confined to their homes and exposed to violence from their partners.
For this reason, this year, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25), the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation joined UN Women’s “Orange the World” campaign through 16 days of action. The Foundation provided exceptional financial support exceeding €100,000 to 16 associations that assist and accompany women victims of violence, in order to strengthen their activities.
In 2020, the Foundation joined UN Women’s “UNiTE” campaign, an international initiative for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls. Since 2014, the official color of this campaign has been orange, symbolizing a brighter future and a fairer world free from violence against women and girls. The “Orange the World” mobilization campaign took place from November 25 to December 10: each day, an association working to combat violence against women received exceptional support of €5,000 from the Foundation.

To raise awareness among RAJA Group employees, the Foundation hosted an exhibition on domestic violence. Based on a photo report by Pierre-Yves Ginet, co-editor-in-chief of the magazine Femmes Ici & Ailleurs, the exhibition “You cannot stay like this, Madam…” highlights the long journey of women who are victims of violence, as well as the work of those who support them daily in rebuilding their emotional, social, financial, and family lives. The exhibition was displayed at the RAJA Group headquarters from November 23 to December 4 and was also shared digitally with the Group’s European subsidiaries.
