In Burkina Faso’s Central Plateau region, women displaced by the security crisis and affected by climate change face significant challenges to economic integration. ESF implements a project aimed at strengthening the local dairy sector to support their autonomy.
The program combines a mentoring system between 25 experienced livestock farmers and 75 beginners, investments in farming sites (livestock, infrastructure, and equipment), technical and agroecological training, and integration into the VOLAFO dairy cooperative. Women will also process and market dairy products, while collective awareness-raising activities and support for female high school students contribute to the project’s sustainability and the promotion of gender equality.
