In response to the urgent need to provide women facing difficulties in the priority neighborhoods of Béziers with access to their rights, Luoga Béziers is launching the “Guitoune” project. The project consists of a tricycle equipped with a wooden structure that unfolds into a small communal space featuring a large table, benches, a computer, a printer, a coffee corner, and a parasol.

The unit is mobile and can be positioned in streets, in front of schools, markets, or along the routes women take when running errands or taking their children to school.

Equipped with a digital platform tailored to the local area, containing all necessary information, and staffed by a community facilitator, the “Guitoune” serves multiple functions: A mobile information hub bringing institutions closer to residents ; A welcoming space for social interaction and community building across all ages and groups ; A mobile platform for learning and local engagement, enhancing territorial dynamism.

Additionally, the “Guitoune” is a practical tool for local associations, providing direct contact with women who are unaware of their rights, unsure how to claim them, restricted in their mobility, or in vulnerable situations. The project empowers these women to reclaim public spaces and establish a sense of orientation beyond community or family constraints.

+ 3 000 people are reached each year, 90% of whom are women.

The association

Founded in 2011, Luoga Béziers aims to carry out initiatives that promote social cohesion and the revitalization of public spaces. The organization works directly in public spaces, fostering lasting connections between people and institutions through recurring and cross-cutting projects. Its primary focus areas are the empowerment of women and access to rights.
