RAJA Group Employees Commitment to Women’s Rights Through Payroll Giving
Since 2013, RAJA Group has offered employees the opportunity to participate in microDON (payroll giving) in support of associations backed by the Foundation. This year, thanks to the engagement of 160 donors, €14,606 was collected. Participants were invited to vote for their two preferred projects – one in France and one internationally – to award the RAJApeople Prizes 2021.
As Danièle Marcovici recalled during the award ceremony, microDON, or “payroll giving,” enables employees to donate each month a few cents to a few euros from their salary, with an annual vote to select two supported associations that will receive the year’s collected funds.
RAJApeople France Prize – En Avant Toute(s)
Julie Chrétiennot, Finance and Reporting Officer, and Aurélie Garnier-Brun, Director and Spokesperson of En Avant Toute(s), received the RAJApeople France Prize for the association’s project to expand the “commentonsaime.fr” online chat, providing assistance to victims of sexist and sexual violence and raising public awareness across France. Young women are particularly affected by such violence: nearly one in seven women aged 20 to 24 has experienced violence from a partner. To reach this specific audience, En Avant Toute(s) created the chat platform www.commentonsaime.fr in 2016, enabling women victims who write in to find safety and access services adapted to their needs.
RAJApeople International Prize – EMANIK
Alexia Aranzueque, Project Manager, and Stella Claude, President of EMANIK, received the RAJApeople International Prize for the association’s project to train a group of adolescents with disabilities, along with their mothers, in bakery and pastry-making in Peru. In the Campoy community, several adolescents live with disabilities; a difficult situation also for their mothers. EMANIK provides psychological support, workshops for empowerment and self-confidence, and professional training in bakery and pastry-making to foster the social integration and future autonomy of these young people, while promoting the empowerment of their mothers.
