To take care of women victims of violence is a complex process that requires a comprehensive consideration of their needs. Throughout the process of leaving violence, the question of accommodation is essential. Many women cannot escape from their home, where most of the violence takes place. Young women, who are overexposed to situations of violence and precariousness, are a particularly vulnerable group and a priority.
La Maison des Femmes de Saint-Denis is launching the “Mon Palier” project to enable these young people, who are often on the move, to benefit from a complete exit route in a setting that encourages their full reconstruction. The aim of the project is to provide young women who have been victims of violence with a place to stay for as long as it takes to rebuild their lives. The young women housed will benefit from the care offered at the Maison des Femmes (MDF) in Saint Denis.
The purpose of the association “La Maison des femmes de Saint-Denis” (MDF) is to support, promote and develop the activities of the “Maison des femmes” unit of the Centre hospitalier Delafontaine (MDF CHSD), whose mission is to care for and assist vulnerable women or victims of violence. It also has a mandate to promote the development in France and Europe of structures with a similar mission and methods of action to those of the MDF CH-SD.
